Damian Wheeler has extensive work experience in the scientific and research field. Damian is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Translucence Biosystems since July 2018, where they lead a team in providing fast and reliable 3D analysis of biological samples. In April 2018, they also founded Activity Signaling, where they serve as the CEO and developed a monoclonal antibody used for marking active neurons in brain slices and primary cultures.

Prior to these entrepreneurial ventures, Damian worked at Dart NeuroScience from June 2009 to June 2018 as a Scientist III, Associate Manager. In this role, they managed multiple internal teams and conducted research on neuronal plasticity, drug discovery, and cognitive function improvement. Damian also worked with primary neuron cultures and conducted phenotypic screens using high-content imaging.

Before joining Dart NeuroScience, Damian was a Research Associate at Stanford University from September 2002 to June 2009, where they worked in the lab of Dr. Richard W. Tsien. Damian also had a brief stint as a Grass Fellow at the Marine Biological Laboratory in 2002.
