Maria Kurniati is an experienced transportation engineer currently working at TranSmart since July 2014, focusing on systems engineering and intelligent transportation systems for the WisDOT Traffic Management Center and traffic management planning for major construction projects. Previously, Maria served as a graduate research assistant at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, contributing to freight modeling and commodity research. Earlier roles include transportation research assistant at the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, where data quality improvement and traffic counter installation were key tasks. Additionally, Maria has experience as a teaching assistant at Marquette University, a math tutor, and an environmental intern at Yayasan Kehati, as well as an engineering intern at SEWRPC. Maria holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Marquette University.
