Saverio La Francesca, MD completed their education and training in a highly specialized field of cardiovascular surgery. Saverio received their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Sapienza Università di Roma, specializing in residency in cardiovascular surgery. Saverio then pursued several fellowships, including at Baylor College of Medicine for aortic surgery, McGill University for clinical/research lung transplant, and Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital for cardiovascular surgery and cardiopulmonary transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. In addition to their formal education, Dr. La Francesca has obtained various certifications in advanced surgical techniques and technologies, such as the use of lung and heart transport systems, ex-vivo lung perfusion systems, and implanting various ventricular assist devices.
