Desmond van Jaarsveld

Desmond van Jaarsveld currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of TRANSNAMIB LIMITED since April 2024 and holds the position of Non Executive Director at Namibia Plastics since March 2023. Previously, Desmond was Managing Director at DP World from November 2021 to March 2024, and Group Chief Executive Officer at The Lion Match Company (Pty) Ltd from August 2020 to October 2021. Desmond has extensive experience as Group CEO at Rain Africa from September 2017 to August 2020, and as Company Owner at Erongo Consulting (Pty) Limited from July 2015 to August 2020. Desmond's executive background includes roles as Managing Director at Safland Property Group, Namibia Breweries Ltd, and Namibia Dairies (Pty) Ltd, alongside earlier experience as Product Development Manager at Namibia Breweries Ltd. Educational qualifications include a Management degree from Stellenbosch Business School and a Master of Science in Microbiology from Stellenbosch University, complemented by a B.Sc. Honors and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the same institution. Desmond furthered education at the Graduate School of Business - University of Cape Town between June 2022 and May 2023.
