Danny Vaughan has a diverse and extensive work experience in the transportation industry. Danny began their career in 1999 as a Project Engineer at Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail, where they managed the procurement and introduction of new rolling stock. Danny then worked at Halcrow as a Senior Traction and Rolling Stock Consultant, where they handled various assignments in Australia and New Zealand.

In 2003, Vaughan joined Alstom Transport as a Lead Engineer, where they established the vehicle maintenance operation for the Luas fleet in Dublin. Danny later moved to the Railway Procurement Agency, where they served as a Maintenance Contracts Manager and Operations Manager for the Luas light rail network. During this time, they focused on improving reliability and growing patronage.

Vaughan's most recent role was at Transport for Greater Manchester, where they held the positions of Head of Operations, Metrolink and Head of Metrolink. In these roles, they oversaw the expansion of the Metrolink light rail network and managed operations and maintenance agreements with Keolis Amey Metrolink.
