John Cookson

John Cookson is an experienced transport professional currently serving as the Strategic Development Manager at Transport for Greater Manchester since April 2017. In this role, John has focused on the region's response to HS2 proposals, particularly developments related to Piccadilly underground, Wigan Station Gateway, and the Golborne Link, among others. Prior to this, John worked at Mouchel as a Transport Strategy Officer and Senior Transport Planner, specializing in public sector transport investment, feasibility studies, and project management. Earlier career experience includes positions as a Planner at Peter Brett Associates and Senior Consultant at Roger Tym & Partners. John holds a Master of Planning (MPlan) in Land Use Planning and Management/Development from The University of Manchester.
