Gary Nolan has an extensive work history in stakeholder engagement and community relations. Gary started their career in 2008 as a Community Relations Officer at Network Rail, where they worked until 2011. Gary then joined London 2012 as a Stakeholder and Community Relations Manager from 2011 to 2012. In 2012, they had a brief contract role as Stakeholder Engagement at Crossrail. From 2013 to 2020, Gary worked at Transport for London, moving up from Stakeholder Communications Manager to Communications and Engagement Manager. Gary'smost recent role at Transport for London was as the Strategic Engagement Lead. Currently, they are working as the Stakeholder Engagement Lead at the Great British Railways Transition Team (GBRTT) since September 2022.

Gary Nolan attended Penistone Grammar School from 1993 to 2000, where they pursued A Levels in English, Biology, Physics, and General Studies. Following this, they enrolled at Sheffield Hallam University from 2000 to 2002, earning a BA degree in Film and Literature.
