Tom Wharf

Tom Wharf is an experienced engineering and design professional currently serving as the Head of Design (Active Travel) at Transport for Wales, where Tom is tasked with building a new team focused on enhancing walking and cycling infrastructure. Previously, Tom held the role of Head of Design & Engineering (England South) at Sustrans, leading efforts to create sustainable transport networks. Tom also contributed as a Commissioner for the National Infrastructure Commission for Wales, providing strategic insights for future infrastructure developments. Prior experience includes senior engineering roles at JBA Consulting and Jacobs UK Ltd, where Tom managed significant projects with a focus on environmental considerations. Tom holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Civil with Environmental Engineering from UCL.
