Andrew Walsh

Andrew Walsh is an experienced transportation professional with a strong background in traffic signal technology, transport planning, and event management. Currently serving as the Head of Traffic Signal Technology and Design and Head of Commonwealth Games Road Network Management and Traffic Engineering at Transport for West Midlands since April 2020, Walsh previously directed the transportation programme for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. Significant roles include leadership positions at Mott MacDonald, where responsibilities spanned directorial functions in transportation for sports and events, and project management for international sports events like the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and South Africa 2023 Rugby World Cup Bid. Walsh holds an MSc in Transportation Planning and Engineering from the University of Southampton and a BA (Hons) in Social Science from the University of the West of England.
