Suzanne Ellis

Suzanne Ellis is a highly experienced Senior Hazardous Materials Transportation Specialist and Hazardous Materials Program Manager at the U.S. Department of Transportation, where tenure spans from August 2010 to the present. As a national expert in the hazardous materials program, Suzanne plans, coordinates, and implements activities to enhance public safety during the transportation of hazardous materials, providing technical assistance and regulatory guidance to various governmental and industry stakeholders. In addition to developing national policy and leading multi-agency teams, Suzanne has contributed significantly to training initiatives and emergency response strategies, while also evaluating and addressing compliance and enforcement issues. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Transportation Specialist and Hazardous Materials Transportation Specialist at the same department, complemented by academic achievements in Law Enforcement Leadership and Criminal Justice from SUNY Canton and Herkimer County Community College.
