Tunya Butterfield Smith

Tunya Butterfield Smith currently serves as the Vice President of the NC Chapter of COMTO National since February 2024 and is a member of the NC Chapter of WTS International as well as the Advisory Council on Transportation Equity for the U.S. Department of Transportation, both roles starting in 2023. Prior to these positions, Tunya held various roles at NCDOT from May 2018 to February 2024, including Director of the Office of Civil Rights, Program Administrator, and Senior Policy Advisor, contributing extensive experience in transportation equity and civil rights advocacy.
