Alaine Wetli has a diverse work experience in the field of research and engineering. Since 2017, Alaine has been associated with Transportation Research Center Inc., working initially as a Research Engineer and later moving on to become the Crashworthiness Team Lead and Research Engineer. In April 2023, Alaine transitioned to the role of Manager of Technical Services. During this time, Alaine has been involved in various research projects related to transportation and has gained expertise in areas like crashworthiness.
Prior to joining Transportation Research Center Inc., Alaine worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at The Ohio State University, specifically in the Injury Biomechanics Lab, from January 2016 to May 2017. In this role, Alaine studied brain tissue degradation in cadaveric subjects for traumatic brain injury testing. Alaine also collaborated with Transportation Research Center Inc. and provided assistance to other students with impact, thoracic, and cadaver testing.
Before that, in 2014, Alaine worked as a Trauma Research Intern at ZimmerBiomet for one year. In this role, Alaine gained valuable experience in the field of trauma research.
Additionally, from June 2013 to May 2015, Alaine worked as a Neuromuscular Biomechanics Lab Research Assistant at The Ohio State University. In this position, Alaine conducted research on quadriceps weakness compensation for the elderly. Alaine also participated in cadaver labs and conducted analysis on pig knees to determine the effects of different size defects on the condyles of the knee.

Alaine Wetli completed their education at three different institutions. Alaine first attended Antwerp High School from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained their High School Diploma with AP credits. After that, they pursued their Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering with a specialization in Biomaterials at The Ohio State University from 2011 to 2015. Following their undergraduate studies, they continued their education at the same university from 2015 to 2017, earning a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
