Matthew Barrow has extensive experience in risk management and enterprise risk management. Matthew has held various roles at leading insurance and reinsurance companies, including TransRe, Amlin, Reinsurance Group of America, Sterling Insurance Group Limited, Lloyd's of London, and the Financial Conduct Authority.

At TransRe, Matthew served as Vice President - Risk Management and previously as AVP - Head of Risk, Calpe & TransRe London Branch. Matthew was recognized as the winner of TransRe London's Annual Achievement Award in 2017. Matthew'sresponsibilities included leading the design and implementation of internal model processes and the delivery of an Internal Model Approval Process.

At Amlin, they worked as a Risk Manager and later as a Business Risk Manager, where they were responsible for syndicate risk and led the ORSA process.

During their tenure at Reinsurance Group of America, Matthew held several roles, including Senior Regional Risk Officer, EMEA, and Risk Manager. Matthew set up the South African framework, developed the Middle East and Europe offices, and provided oversight of enterprise risk management across international offices.

Matthew started their career at Lloyd's of London, where they served as an Account Analyst, overseeing the Lloyd's Run-off Market and handling compliance and management accounting functions. Later, they worked as a Risk Executive, facilitating syndicate risk committees and contributing to the development and implementation of Lloyd's Risk Policy.

Prior to their industry experience, Matthew worked at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as an Associate, where they were involved in the ARROW panel and various risk committees.

Matthew first obtained an LLb (hons) degree in Law with a 2:2 classification from Brunel University London, graduating from 1997 to 2000. Following this, they pursued a BSc (hons) degree in Applied Accounting, achieving a 2:1 classification, at Oxford Brookes University from 2007 to 2008.

Continuing their education in the field of accountancy, Matthew became a member of the Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) from 2002 to 2007. To further enhance their expertise in risk management within the financial services industry, they completed a certification in Quantitative Risk Management (CQRM) at the International Institute of Professional Education and Research (IIPER) in 2019. This certification covered topics such as ERM, Real Options, Forecasting, Econometrics, Monte Carlo Simulation, and Predictive Modeling.

Additionally, Matthew obtained a Specialist Institute of Risk Management (SIRM) qualification specializing in risk management in financial services from IRM in 2014.
