Stephen Coffman

Chief Software Architect at TrapWire

Stephen Coffman has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Stephen started their career at Rockwell International as a Sr. Software/Systems Engineer, where they developed software for machine vision sensor and invented spatiotemporal image slicing. Stephen later became a Member Technical Staff at the same company, where they worked on developing an expert system for analyzing missile guidance systems and designing methods for determining mirror surface characteristics.

Coffman then moved on to AOL, where they held various positions such as Senior/Principal Software Engineer, Software System Architect, and Chief Architect. Stephen led technology teams, selected modern technologies for projects, and played an integral role in the development of a New Client Framework and New Client Delivery/Update System. Additionally, Coffman represented Client Engineering at AOL and participated in the Architects Review Board.

Most recently, Coffman worked at TRAPWIRE Inc. as a Senior Software Architect and later as the Chief Software Architect. Here, they designed and developed flagship client and server software, developed pattern-matching and data-mining algorithms, and provided guidance and vision for both client and server systems. Stephen also interacted with partners and technology providers that integrated with the company's products.

Stephen Coffman received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration from Chapman University, where they studied from 1982 to 1987. Stephen later pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Applied Math from Claremont Graduate University, completing their studies from 1989 to 1991.
