Dr. Marcell Assan

Dr. Marcell Assan has a diverse work experience in the field of Information Technology and Security. Dr. Marcell is currently serving as the Head of Holding IT (CIO) at TRATON GROUP since July 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Head of Group Information Security, IT Governance & Finance (CISO) at TRATON GROUP from March 2020 to September 2022.

Before joining TRATON GROUP, Dr. Assan worked at MAN SE as the VP, Chief Information Security Officer from June 2017 to February 2020. Dr. Marcell also gained professional experience at MAN Truck & Bus SE, where they served as the VP, Chief Information Security Officer from March 2016 to May 2017 and as the VP, Head of IT Governance & Strategy from January 2007 to February 2016.

Dr. Assan's career includes previous roles at Siemens AG / Benq Mobile GmbH as a Senior Manager / Deputy Chief Process Officer from July 2004 to December 2006. Dr. Marcell also worked as a Scientific Assistant at Zentrum für Lern- und Wissensmanagement / Lehrstuhl Informatik im Maschinenbau from April 2000 to March 2004. Additionally, they gained experience as an IT Consultant Automotive Aftersales at Xenium AG from October 2001 to February 2003, and as a Team Manager of Problem & Incident Management at debis Systemhaus GEI GmbH from April 1998 to March 2000.

Dr. Assan's early career involved working as a Software Engineer with a focus on real-time systems at Dräger from September 1997 to March 1998.

Dr. Marcell Assan received a Diplom-Ingenieur degree in Telecommunications Engineering from RWTH Aachen University in 1997. Dr. Marcell then pursued further education and obtained a Dr.-Ing. (Ph.D.) degree in Engineering from the same university in 2004.
