The Lower Rio Grande Valley Regional Advisory Council (TRAC-V) is designated by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) as the administrative body responsible for trauma system oversight within the 4 county Trauma Service Area - V (TSA-V), consisting of Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy Counties. As one of 22 Regional Advisory Councils (RACs) across the state, TRAC-V develops, implements, and monitors a regional emergency medical service trauma system plan. TRAC-V aspires to improve the delivery of specialized healthcare services to citizens of the Rio Grande Valley through education, outreach, collaboration, and communication.
