Fred van Eijk

Fred van Eijk is the Managing Director and Founder of Travel Counsellors, a leading global home-based travel business established in November 2005. With extensive experience in the travel industry, Fred has also served on the Advisory Board for Stenden University since 2001 and held the position of Partner & Senior Advisor at bright8 from March 2020 to April 2022. Previous roles include CEO of the Qatar Tourism Authority from 2002 to 2004, where Fred played a key role in positioning Qatar as a leading destination, and CEO of MyTravel Nederland BV from January 2000 to February 2003. Fred's career also includes significant positions such as COO at West European Leisure Group, Managing Director at Flying Colours Leisure Group, and board memberships at Qatar National Hotels and ANVR Dutch Federation of Travel Companies. Fred holds a professional diploma in travel and tourism from SEPR and a diploma in French language and civilization from Université Paris-Sorbonne.
