Deepak Thomas Kurian

Deepak Thomas Kurian has extensive work experience in the legal field, primarily in the media and advertising industries. Deepak has held various senior roles in different companies, including Travel Food Services Pvt Ltd, dentsu international india, Viacom 18 Media Private Limited, Star TV Network, India Law Alliance, KSB PARTNERS, and Menon & Pai, Advocates.

In their most recent position as Vice President and Head Legal at Travel Food Services Pvt Ltd, Deepak is responsible for the legal function and provides guidance to the leadership team.

During their time at dentsu international india, Deepak served as the Senior Legal Counsel South Asia. Deepak established the legal function and team, advised group entities, and managed high-value commercial transactions, litigation, governance, and compliance processes.

At Viacom 18 Media Private Limited, Deepak worked as a Legal Manager and played a crucial role in facilitating content licensing and syndication. Deepak also negotiated complex contracts and agreements for the launch of the OTT platform "Voot."

Earlier in their career, Deepak gained experience at India Law Alliance, where they worked as a Legal Associate, and at KSB PARTNERS, a boutique law firm, where they served as an Associate. At KSB PARTNERS, they handled foreign PE investments, M&A transactions, and provided advisory services to foreign companies.

Deepak's professional journey began at Menon & Pai, Advocates, one of the largest law firms in South India, where they worked as an Advocate. Deepak successfully obtained injunctions and defended clients in civil and company law matters, drafting legal documents and representing clients in various courts and tribunals.

Deepak Thomas Kurian completed their education at Symbiosis Law School, Pune, where they obtained a BSL LLB degree in Law from 2001 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, Deepak also obtained various certifications, including "Developing Executive Presence" and "Developing Assertive Leadership" from LinkedIn in 2021, as well as "Privacy in Europe" and "Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination" from Coursera in 2021 as well.
