Marketing Specialist / Columbia Gorge Tourism Alliance at Travel Oregon

Maria Foley has held three professional positions over the past decade. In 2015, they began working as a Marketing Specialist and Columbia Gorge Tourism Alliance for Travel Oregon. Her role included partnering with tourism stakeholders to identify assets and challenges, developing a marketing strategy, coordinating facilitator-led training seminars, creating itineraries, and securing funding for grant matching opportunities.

In 2009, Maria Foley became the Program Director for Christmas for Community Children, where they managed a non-profit program by partnering with schools, churches, and community organizations to help identify children in need and provide them with Christmas gifts.

In 2013, Maria Foley joined the Mt. Adams Chamber of Commerce as an Executive Assistant/Visitor Center Coordinator. In this role, they managed materials at the Visitor Center, designed and created brochures and promotional materials, greeted and guided guests, created relocation and membership packets, and coordinated advertising and marketing opportunities. Maria was later promoted to Executive Director, where they cultivated relationships with local government officials and community leaders, grew membership, maintained accurate records, planned and executed events, promoted and marketed member businesses and community events, and managed Visitor Center operations.

Maria Foley has a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Elementary Education and Teaching from Oakland University. Maria has also obtained numerous certifications, including Administrative Professional Foundations, Customer Service: Handling Abusive Customers, Remote Work Foundations, Web Development Foundations: Web Technologies, Technical Recruiting, Google Docs Essential Training, Social Media Marketing: Social CRM, Excel 2013: Advanced Formulas and Functions, MailChimp Fundamentals, Ford Institute Leadership Program, and Tourism Community Leader, from institutions such as LinkedIn, The Ford Family Foundation, and Travel Oregon, between the years 2016 and 2020.
