Traveling Illini was founded at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2021. Arising out of a demand for socializing with other students following the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the club became a fun way for Illinois's diverse student body to meet, socialize, and explore together. Ever since, our mission has been to provide safe, accessible, and affordable travel opportunities to all Illinois students. Since its inception, Traveling Illini has become among the largest student-run clubs at UIUC and is among the nation's largest student-run travel organizations.
