Chris Buckle

Chris Buckle has a diverse background in software engineering, with experience working in both senior and intern roles. From 2015 to 2016, they served as an Engineering Intern at Sophos. In this position, they gained valuable experience in the field. In 2017, Chris advanced to the role of Senior Software Engineer at Sophos, where they remained until December 2020. During this time, they acquired extensive knowledge and expertise in software engineering. In 2021, Chris joined Tripadvisor as a Software Engineer, specializing in full-stack development for their travel subscription service, Tripadvisor Plus. Chris worked collaboratively with a multinational team, focusing on building a robust and user-friendly customer checkout experience. Then, later in 2021, Chris transitioned to Travelnest as a Senior Software Engineer. In this role, they contribute to the Booking and Payments Lifecycle Team, dedicated to enhancing the booking and payment experience for hosts. Chris has expertise in technologies such as React, Node.js, Typescript, Python, and has experience with microservice architecture, AWS serverless, and Postgres.

Chris Buckle completed their high school education at The Hayfield School from 2007 to 2013, where they studied A-Level Physics, Maths, and Further Maths. Following this, they attended the University of York from 2013 to 2017, earning a BEng in Computer Science (with a year in industry). Their field of study during their university years was Computer Science.
