Travis County
Trey Johnson currently serves as a Mental Health Public Defender for Travis County, starting in December 2024. Previous experience includes roles such as PRN Therapist at Beckett Springs, providing CBT treatment in inpatient psychoeducation groups, and legal internships supporting the Mental Health Division at Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney Phil Sorrells and the Unaccompanied Children's Program at the International Rescue Committee. Trey has also held positions including Judicial Extern at Hamilton County Courthouse, Permanency Specialist at ACH Child & Family Services, and various roles within Tarrant County’s juvenile and family courts. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Law from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and a Master of Social Work from The University of Texas at Arlington, complemented by additional degrees in Cross-Cultural Ministry and Children's Education from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Bachelor's in History from Thomas Edison State University.
