Erik Wakefield

Erik Wakefield has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and positions. Erik began their career as an Executive Team Leader in Human Resources at Target and later served as an Organizational Effectiveness Consultant and Northern California/Northern Nevada Business College Leader. Erik then transitioned into a role as an Organizational Effectiveness Consultant at Target.

In 2009, Erik took on the role of Senior Business Partner in Store Operations at Target, where they championed multiple cross-functional efforts and implemented Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement. Erik played a key role in the successful rollout of Target's PFresh prototype and drove productivity and profitability improvements. Erik also saved millions of dollars through optimizing organizational structures and improving systematic ordering processes.

In 2015, Erik joined Universal Hospital Services as the Director of Learning & Development. Erik successfully improved organizational capabilities and employee engagement through training and development initiatives. Additionally, Erik served as a Six Sigma Black Belt, leading projects to elevate customer experience and revamp billing and invoicing systems.

Erik's next role was at TCF Bank as the Vice President and Sr. Product Manager for Branch Location Operations. Erik led teams in strategy development and daily execution of key branch operations across multiple states. Erik was responsible for operational excellence, cash management, and continuous process improvement.

Most recently, Erik worked at Flagstar Bank as the Vice President and Senior Customer Experience Manager. Erik consistently elevated the customer experience by leveraging business revitalization and data-driven insights. Erik actively identified areas for process improvement and collaborated cross-functionally to develop transformative experiences for customers.

In 2023, Erik will join Travis Credit Union as the Senior Vice President of Operations.

Erik Wakefield earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Speech Communication from California State University, Fresno, from 1999 to 2005. In addition to their formal education, they obtained several certifications throughout the years. Erik obtained a certification in Behavioral Economics from Chicago Booth Executive Education in August 2022. In October 2017, they completed the Chief Learning Officer (CLO) Accelerator program offered by Chief Learning Officer. Furthermore, Erik obtained a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from Universal Hospital Services in September 2015.
