Marien van Baren has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Marien started their career at Oracle as a Software Engineer in 1995 and worked there until 1998. Marien then joined Uniqema, ICI as an IT Project Manager and IT Architect from 1998 to 2004. After that, they worked as a Project Manager/Business Analyst at Uniqema, ICI from 2002 to 2007.
In 2007, Marien van Baren joined Rabobank and held multiple roles within the organization. Marien started as a Project Manager/Business Analyst from 2007 to 2010. Marien then became a Programme Manager for Rabo Transact - wholesale client portal from 2010 to 2011 and later took on the role of Manager Projects E-Commerce from 2011 to 2011. From 2011 to 2015, Marien van Baren served as a Delivery Manager for Global Financial Markets IT. In 2015, they transitioned to the role of Manager IT Infrastructure - Middleware & Operating Systems until 2016. Finally, they became the co-founder and CTO/Head of product development at TreasurUp in 2016. Marien van Baren continued to hold this position at TreasurUp at the time the information was provided.
Marien van Baren obtained a Bachelor's degree in Faculty of Technical Mathematics & Informatics from Delft University of Technology between 1990 and 1995. In addition to their degree, they have acquired several certifications throughout their career. These include SAFe Agilist Certification from Xebia in October 2021, Qualified Treasurer (QT) from NIVE Opleidingen in September 2019, and Qualified Cash Manager (QCM) from NIVE Opleidingen in January 2019. Other certifications include completion of the scale-up programme from Scale-Up Nation in January 2019, Lean start-up training from Startupbootcamp Amsterdam in July 2016, MSP Practitioner (Managing Successful Programmes) from APMG-International in December 2014, Professional Scrum Master from Scrum.org in May 2014, and Agile Foundation from Agile Consortium in November 2013. Marien also obtained a certification in Financial Markets & Banking from NIBE-SVV opleider voor de financiële dienstverlening in December 2007 and a certification in Prince2 Practitioner (Projects in Controlled Environments) from APMG-International in November 2007. Furthermore, they completed a Post Doc Ecommerce program at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in February 2000 and received the APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) certification from APICS Supply Chain Council in July 1998.
