Murat Karakum

Murat Karakum, P.E. holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, Chico, and has extensive experience in engineering and project management, particularly in renewable energy and large-scale industrial projects. Currently serving as the Director of Development Engineering at Treaty Oak Clean Energy since February 2023, Murat previously held senior positions at Kier & Wright, including Senior Project Manager and Director of Renewables, where responsibilities included managing utility-scale renewable projects and energy storage. At SunPower Corporation, Murat advanced through various roles, culminating as Development Engineering Manager, overseeing engineering aspects of project development. Prior experience includes significant project management roles at Kier & Wright Civil Engineers and The Engineering Group, Inc., contributing to major industrial and residential developments.
