Lukas Bals

Lukas Bals serves as the Head of Engineering and Founding Engineer at Tree.ly since June 2021, where the focus is on innovative solutions for forest owners to monetize their resources. Prior to this role, Lukas worked as an Engineer at Crate.io from May 2018 to May 2021, contributing to the development of the cloud offering for the open-source database CrateDB within an agile team. Earlier experience includes a role as a Junior Engineer and Web Developer at YUMMY Publishing GmbH, where Lukas developed SDKs and created a prototype for a serverless tech stack. Additional work experience encompasses civil service with the Austrian Red Cross and various internships in technology and engineering, including a notable internship that involved developing a customer data management solution based on Node.js. Lukas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from FHV - Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences and a Matura in Wirtschaftsingeneurwesen - Informatik from HTL Dornbirn.
