Myriam Abarkan has a diverse work experience spanning various research and scientific roles. Myriam is currently working as an R&D Scientist at TreeFrog Therapeutics since September 2021. Previously, they worked as a Research Scientist and a PhD Student at the Institute of Chemistry & Biology of Membranes & Nano-objects (CBMN) from October 2017 to September 2021. Their research focused on developing Organic Electrochemical Transistors (OECTs) as sensors to monitor pancreatic micro-organ activity.
Prior to that, Myriam completed a Master 2 Internship in International Neurosciences at the Institut des maladies neurodégénératives UMR5293 in 2017. Myriam also gained experience through a Master 1 Internship in International Neurosciences at the same institute in 2016. Additionally, they worked as an Assistant Ingénieur at NeuroCentre François Magendie U1215 for a short period in 2014 and completed a License Internship at the same institute in 2014 as well.
Myriam Abarkan began their education at the Université de Bordeaux in 2013, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences with a focus on Biochemistry. Myriam completed their undergraduate studies in 2015.
In 2015, Myriam enrolled in a Master's program at the Université de Bordeaux, specializing in International Neurosciences. Myriam successfully completed their Master's degree in 2017.
Continuing their academic journey, Myriam pursued a Doctorate at the Université de Bordeaux starting in 2017. Their research focused on Cellular Biology and Pathophysiology. Myriam dedicated four years to their doctoral studies, completing their Ph.D. in 2021.
In addition to their formal education, Myriam obtained a certification in Animal Experimentation, specifically in the design of experiments involving rodents. This certification was received in January 2018 from the CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique).
