Melissa Nunez has a diverse work experience in various roles related to journalism and digital content. Melissa started their career as a Sports Writer at The Valley Times from September 2009 to January 2013. Melissa then worked as a General Assignment Reporter at The Southern News from January 2016 to June 2016. Following that, they served as the Opinions and Features Editor at The Southern News from August 2016 to December 2017. During this time, they also worked as a Co-Editor-in-Chief at Crescent magazine from September 2017 to December 2017. In 2016, they became a Freelance Journalist, which they continue to do. Currently, Melissa is working as a Digital Content Specialist at Treehouse Marketing since February 2018. In this role, they focus on creating high-converting content, designing content strategies, reviewing analytics reports, conducting market research, and ensuring content meets client standards and deadlines.
Melissa Nunez has a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Southern Connecticut State University, which they obtained between 2011 and 2017. Prior to their university education, they completed their high school education at Ansonia High School, where they earned a High School Diploma in General Studies, from 2007 to 2011.
In addition to their formal education, Melissa has obtained several certifications. In September 2018, they completed an Online Marketing Foundations course through Lynda.com. Melissa also obtained certifications in Inbound Marketing from HubSpot Academy in September 2018, and in Advanced Google Analytics from Google in April 2018. Most recently, in August 2020, they became Content Marketing Certified through HubSpot.
