Stephanie Welch

Stephanie Welch is an experienced executive with a diverse background in public policy, community development, and education. Currently serving as Executive Director of Trekkers since September 2024, Stephanie previously held key roles at the Island Institute, including Public Policy Director and Director of the President’s Office, and worked as a consultant for the City of Knoxville. Notably, Stephanie served as Chief of Economic and Community Development and Deputy Mayor for the City of Knoxville from February 2020 to September 2022 and has extensive experience in public service as a former Councilwoman. Stephanie's leadership experience also includes significant roles at Great Schools and the Knox County Health Department. Educational qualifications consist of a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from the University of New Hampshire and a Master of Public Health from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
