John R. Pickens is an experienced marketing and business strategist with a diverse background in advertising, communications, and entrepreneurship. Currently serving as Marketing Manager and Business Strategist at Trelleborgs kommun since October 2015, John has played a key role in developing the business sector and fostering entrepreneurship in the region. Previously, John co-founded and led marketing efforts at Time Sports Club, targeting well-educated demographics, which was acquired by Nordic Wellness in 2015. John also held leadership positions at Reach Communications AB as CEO and Creative Director, and as an Art Director at Liberg Thompson, collaborating with major global brands. Early in the career, John worked as a lecturer in advertising and communications at RMI Berghs School and excelled as Head of Studio at Appel & Falk Advertising. John’s military service as a platoon leader enriched leadership and tactical skills. Academic credentials include studies at Lund University.
