Valentine Lovekin

Board Member at Trent University

Mr. Valentine Lovekin is a practicing lawyer in Toronto and Newcastle specializing in real estate, estate administration and corporate law. Mr. Lovekin is also a highly engaged community volunteer, serving as President of the Newcastle Business Improvement Association, the Bloor-Yorkville Business Improvement Association, Lakeridge Health Board of Trustees, Credit Canada and the Canadian Association of the Order of Malta. For the last thirty years he has volunteered at Covenant House, providing legal counsel to street youth and serving on its Speakers Bureau. Until 2013 he rode with the Governor General’s Horse Guards Cavalry Squadron. Mr. Lovekin graduated from Trent with a B.A. (Hons) in English and Philosophy and was a student in T.H.B. Symons’ Vanier Seminar. He received his law degree from York University Osgoode Hall Law School. Mr. Lovekin has been appointed to the Trent University Board of Governors for a three-year term effective July 1, 2021.
