John Winn has over 30 years of work experience, beginning with their role as a Technical Service Representative and Shift Leader at BASF in 1988. John then moved to Meridian Automotive as a Process Engineer in 1999, followed by a role as Inventory Control Supervisor at Butcher Engineering in 2001. In 2002, Winn joined Guardian Industries as a Group Leader, before taking on the role of Auditor at Building Performance Institute, Inc. in 2012. John then moved to A123 Systems as a Battery Electrode Quality Assurance in 2011, and is currently Quality Manager and Quality Engineering at Trenton Forging Company, a role they have held since 2014. TheirQuality Engineering role involves customer/supplier quality, machining project coordination, forging defect analysis, PPAPs and process training/troubleshooting.

John Winn attended Gabriel Richard High School from 1978 to 1982, where they earned a Diploma in College Prep. John then attended Ferris State University from 1982 to 1985, studying Engineering. In 2010, they enrolled in Henry Ford College and completed an Associate's Degree in General Studies. John also attended Henry Ford Community College from 2010 to 2013, where they earned an Associate's Degree in Renewable/Alternative Energy.
