Advaith Somasundar is an accomplished mechanical engineering professional with extensive experience in the electric vehicle and automotive sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Mechanical Engineering at Tresa Motors since September 2023, Advaith previously held positions including Mechanical Design Engineer at Rimac Technology and Structural Design Engineer at TRESA, focusing on electric vehicle skateboard platform design. Advaith's early career includes significant roles such as Project Engineer at Chalmers EcoSmarter, leading the design of efficient hybrid cars, and Project Leader at Sansera Engineering Limited, managing development projects for engine components for notable clients such as Ducati and Triumph. Today, trucks in India represent just 3% of the total vehicle fleet, yet are responsible for 53% of PM and 34% of CO2 emissions. Indian trucks aren't safe either and accounted for >14000 fatalities in 2021. 50% of drivers have compromised vision3 while driving for long hours, delivering goods that run our economy. There are 2 million trucks in India. Tresa will switch them to electric, one at a time. We are designing high-performance EV platforms, from the ground up, with first principles. Looking for people who would love to advance the state of the art in EV technologies (currently focusing on powertrain, controllers, actively cooled MegaWatt battery packs, VCU algorithms, +800V architectures, and model-based development.
