Freek Damen

Freek Damen has a diverse work experience in finance and auditing. Freek started their career at Ernst & Young in 2004 as a Manager Audit MNC, where they worked on audits for various companies in different industries. In 2011, they joined Fluke Europe BV as a Financial Controller, responsible for statutory compliance and managing the accounting team. Later, they became the Controller EMEA, overseeing financial compliance for European entities. Since 2015, Freek has been with Trespa, initially as the Group Controller and currently as the Director of Finance. In this role, they are responsible for global financial compliance, tax strategy execution, and improving internal control structures.

Freek Damen completed their education in the following order: Freek attended Bernardinus college from 1993 to 1999, where they pursued a gymnasium education. Freek then went on to Maastricht University from 1999 to 2004, earning a Drs/Msc degree in Accountancy. In the same period (2004 to 2007), they also completed a postdoctoral program in Chartered Accountancy at Maastricht University. Finally, from 2004 to 2010, Freek Damen participated in a practical internship at Ernst & Young as part of their training to become a Registered Accountant.
