Charles “Chuck” LeMoine is a partner in Tressler's General Defense and Litigation Practice Group. Chuck is known for litigating a wide range of civil matters and is a fierce advocate in the courtroom and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) venues. Chuck’s commercial litigation practice focuses on professional liability, insurance coverage, product liability, construction and contractor disputes, class and collective actions and business torts. He also has a depth of experience defending school districts, counties and municipalities. Chuck has appeared in state and federal courts on behalf of clients in claims arising from student fights, school bus accidents, sexual abuse, discrimination, property damage, premises liability, construction defects and contract breaches.
Beyond the litigation arena, Chuck has served as outside general counsel for medical groups, physician practices and several school and municipal insurance pools. Insurers regularly engage him as a second set of risk management eyes to assigned counsel in serious and catastrophic damages cases.
Chuck has tried cases at the federal and state levels. He has argued cases before the Illinois Appellate Court and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Charles “Chuck” LeMoine moved his award-winning practice to Tressler LLP in August 2022. Since 1987, he has handled a wide array of civil litigation matters from the trial court level through appeal. He has been a certified arbitrator since 1990. Chuck has represented insurance companies, healthcare providers, banks, vehicle manufacturers and dealers, title companies and construction contractors. He has also represented individual doctors, architects, engineers, real estate brokers and property owners.
Chuck has spent more than 18 years as a leader in the field of pro bono legal services. He is committed to supporting his community and developing the next generation of litigators. Chuck has been a featured speaker and author on various topics including risk management techniques, violence in the workplace, construction disputes and mechanics liens, railroad litigation, products liability and professional litigation.
Chuck was a recipient of an AV® Preeminent™ Rating by Martindale-Hubbell for Legal Ability and Ethical Standards, 2002-2015; Platinum Client Champion, 2018. He was also named an Illinois Leading Lawyer in the areas of Personal Injury Defense: General; Products Liability Defense and Prof'I Mal Defense: including Legal/Tech/Financial by the Leading Lawyers Network, 2011-2017.
