Minzhuan Gong

Minzhuan Gong has over 30 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on enterprise search and information security. Minzhuan started their career at GSE system, a real-time simulation company, where they developed software to model nuclear power plants. Minzhuan then worked at Verizon as a software engineer, where they were the technical lead for the customer address sub-system. At T. Rowe Price, they were a consultant and developed a web-based system for financial analysts. Gong then joined Convera, an enterprise search software company, where they continued working on the RetrievalWare product. Minzhuan worked at FAST SEARCH & TRANSFER as a principal engineer, focusing on query, admin, categorization/classification features, and server infrastructure. Minzhuan also designed and developed an XPath-like query syntax for the Discovery Platform search engine. Gong worked at Microsoft as a software development engineer in the enterprise search group, specifically on the "Fast Search Server" product. Most recently, they worked at Message Systems as a software engineer. Minzhuan is currently a lead software engineer at Tresys Technology, where they are involved in cross-domain security and Android security projects.

Minzhuan Gong holds a PhD and Master's degree in Nuclear Physics and Computer Science, which were obtained from Michigan State University in the years 1985 to 1990. Prior to that, Gong completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Guangxi University between 1978 and 1982. Additionally, Gong has acquired certifications in Threat Modeling and Security+.
