Mariela Pauli

Senior Scientist at TRex Bio

Mariela Pauli has a diverse work experience spanning from 2007 to 2022. Mariela began their career as a Scientist Associate at Consumer Genetics in 2007. In 2008, they became a Lab Assistant III at UCSF Medical Center and in 2019 they took on the role of Consultant Scientist at TRexBio. In 2022, they were promoted to Senior Scientist at TRexBio. At UCSF Medical Center, they were a Director of the Cutaneous Immunology Center and a Specialist IV, where they were in charge of executing 5-10 human projects at a time and overseeing 3 junior specialists. Mariela also established many of the human ex-vivo protocols that have advanced graduate students and post-doc research in the lab. Additionally, Mariela was an Islet Isolation Assistant, where they determined the frequency of donor-reactive T cells throughout islet transplantation and processed patient blood samples. At TRexBio, they developed and up-kept their metadata for single cell sequencing, analyzed flow cytometry data, put together presentations, and relayed logistics of single cell sequencing and sample collection. At Consumer Genetics, they developed new protocols for Pink and Blue, a fetal blood test that detects gender at the 7 week of gestation, administrated Paternity and Relationship Tests, and developed a website for Winegen Test.

Mariela Pauli obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from San Francisco State University from 2001 to 2007. Mariela then went on to pursue a Masters in Science in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from SFSU from 2010 to 2012.
