Luis Rodrigo Piñeiro

Luis Rodrigo Piñeiro has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Luis Rodrigo currently serves as the Vice President of Innovation and Quality at Trex Company since January 2022. Previously, they held the position of Sr. Director of Research and Development at Trex Company from October 2019 to January 2022.

Before joining Trex Company, Piñeiro worked at Crayola for a significant portion of their career. Their roles at Crayola included Vice President of Operations Engineering, Director of Technical Exploration & Process Development, Manager of Product / Process Development & Technical Services, and Associate Technology Principal. Luis Rodrigo achieved notable accomplishments in these roles, including the innovation of Color Wonder manufacturing process and the streamlining of the new product innovation process.

Prior to Crayola, Piñeiro worked at PepsiCo as a Senior Process Engineer, where they identified and implemented new capabilities beyond carbonated soft drinks. Luis Rodrigo also played a role in creating the process to manufacture bottled Frappuccino.

Piñeiro began their career at KBR (M.W. Kellogg) as a Sr. Process Engineer.

Luis Rodrigo Piñeiro attended Cornell University from 1986 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Luis Rodrigo then pursued further education at the Lehigh University College of Business from 2009 to 2011, obtaining a Six Sigma Black Belt certification. Prior to their university education, they attended Brooklyn Technical High School from 1982 to 1986, focusing on Chemistry.
