John Maragliano

John Maragliano, CPA ,CA ,CFA, is an integral member of our senior leadership team, responsible for the oversight of all accounting and finance operations, bank financing relationships, strategic planning for the growth of our business, as well as analysis, reporting, financial controls, tax and treasury. John is a key advisor, business partner and sounding board to the team.

John has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on banking, insurance, wealth management, and fintech. His extensive background includes financial and management reporting, treasury management, capital and liquidity management, M&A transactions, and capital raising.

Prior to joining Trez Capital John was the Chief Financial Officer at SNAP Financial Group where he was responsible for financial relationships with bankers and investors, developing and managing SNAP’s finance and capital strategies while overseeing financing/securitizations, accounting, and reporting functions. Previous to SNAP, John was the Executive Vice President and Group Chief Financial Officer at Butterfield Bank – a publicly owned bank with 1,200 employees, $10 billion in assets and $80 billion in off balance sheet assets under administration in six jurisdictions. John was the Chair of the Group Asset and Liability Management Committee, member of the Group Technology Committee, oversaw investor and rating agency relations as well as the global finance function. John played a central role on the executive management team as it navigated the global financial crisis.

John earned a Bachelor of Administration in Accounting from Simon Fraser University. He is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA).
