Purba Nag has a diverse work experience, starting in 2012 as a Summer Intern at St. Xavier's College in Kolkata, where they characterized novel actinomycetes from fertile riverbanks. Purba continued their internship at the same college in 2013, focusing on the study of endogenous plasmid in Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
In 2015, Purba became a PhD student at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, where they worked as a Research Assistant and later as a Research Officer. Purba conducted research in various areas and successfully completed their PhD in 2019.
After completing their PhD, Purba pursued a career in research, working as a Research Scientist at Queensland Health from 2019 to 2022. Purba then joined UQ Queensland Brain Institute as a Senior Research Assistant from 2022 to 2023. Currently, they are working as a Scientific Services Officer at the Translational Research Institute Australia.
Purba Nag completed their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Biotechnology from Vellore Institute of Technology, studying from 2009 to 2014. Afterward, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology at Griffith University, where they studied from 2015 to 2019.
