Ron Smith, CKAE has a long history of work experience in the banking and electric cooperative industries. Ron began their career in 1993 as a Banking Center Manager for NationsBank of Texas, N.A. where they developed and implemented aggressive sales strategies for an In-store and a traditional banking center. In 1995, they joined JPMorgan Chase & Co. as a District Manager, Vice President, where they were responsible for developing sales, service, leadership and operational goals and strategies for 18 In-store banking throughout the state of Louisiana. Ron then held various roles at Cleco, including Director Customer Experience, General Manager Customer Experience, Manager- Origination & Retail Retention, Principal- Governmental Affairs Representative Northern District, Sr. Residential & Commercial Developer/Customer Account Manager, Customer Account Manager, and Director. In their most recent role, they were a Community Relations Specialist at Tri-County Electric Cooperative, Inc. since 2022, where they were responsible for coordinating, organizing, and executing efforts to represent Tri-County Electric Cooperative favorably in the community through outreach and building relationships.
Ron Smith, CKAE received a Bachelor of Science in Business Marketing from Southern University and A & M, Baton Rouge, LA in 1992. In 2001, they went on to attain a Master of Business Administration in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of Phoenix in 2003.
