Ali Fairhurst has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Ali began their career as a Solicitor at Wilde Sapte from 1991 to 1995. Ali then worked as a Lecturer at BPP Law School from 1997 to 2001, teaching postgraduate students on the LPC. Ali Fairhurst served as the Marketing Manager at Norton Rose from 2001 to 2003. Ali also worked for The Good Schools Guide as an Editor from 2007 to 2011, where they wrote about international schools in Shanghai and provided personalized advice to families. From 2012 to 2014, Ali Fairhurst held positions at Tanglin Trust School as an Internal Communications Manager and Communications Executive. Ali then served as the Communications Manager at Monkton Combe School from 2015 to 2016, where they managed social media, prepared e-newsletters, and edited the school's annual magazine. Ali Fairhurst worked as a Freelance Social Media Consultant and Trainer in 2018, providing consultancy and training in social media strategy, campaigns, blog writing, and website content management for small businesses and individuals. Currently, they hold the position of Social Business Enabler at Tribal Impact Ltd since March 2019.

Ali Fairhurst completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Leeds from 1986 to 1989. In 2018, Ali obtained an Advanced Diploma in Strategic Social Media Marketing from Digital Mums. Additionally, Ali pursued a Common Professional Examination (Law) and Law Society Finals from The Manchester Metropolitan University, although the exact years are unknown. Ali also obtained certifications in the Tribal Impact Social Apprentice Course in May 2019 and the Tribal Impact Social Practitioner Course in April 2019, both from Tribal Impact Ltd.
