Amanda Merrifield has had a diverse range of work experiences. Amanda started their career at Microsoft in 2016 as a Consumer Product Advisor, where they served as the face of Microsoft to customers and provided excellent customer service. Amanda then became a Surface Category Manager Intern, where they developed marketing strategies and created execution guides for Best Buy. Amanda also worked as a Community Development Specialist, cultivating partnerships within their local community to promote brand awareness of Microsoft Stores.
In 2021, Amanda joined Bettermode, a platform that builds online communities. Amanda initially worked as a Customer Success Manager, helping revolutionize the way people engage in online communities. Amanda later transitioned to the role of Onboarding Manager, where they managed the low-touch function in the Customer Success Team and collaborated with various teams to improve customer onboarding strategies. Currently, Amanda is serving as a Community Success Manager at Bettermode.
Throughout their career, Amanda has demonstrated strong communication skills, a customer-centric approach, and the ability to collaborate effectively with different teams and stakeholders.
Amanda Merrifield obtained an Ontario College Diploma in PBUMK Business Administration – Marketing from Sheridan College, where they studied from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they earned another Ontario College Diploma in H113 Baking and Pastry Arts Management from George Brown College, attending from 2013 to 2014.
In addition to their formal education, Amanda has also acquired various certifications. These include "Onboarding and Adoption Best Practices for Customer Success Management" from LinkedIn, which they obtained in December 2021, and "Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals" from Microsoft, obtained in February 2021. Other certifications they hold include "Sales: Customer Success," "Telling a Story to Build a Community," "Google Analytics Essential Training," "SEO Foundations," "Online Marketing Foundations," "B2B Marketing Foundations," "B2B Marketing on LinkedIn," "Social Media Marketing: Managing Online Communities," "Creating Change: Diversity and Inclusion in the Tech Industry," "Event Planning Foundations," "Marketing Your Event," and "Accessibility in Action." These were obtained from LinkedIn and Microsoft between 2018 and 2020, with the exception of "Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE)," for which the specific month and year of attainment are unknown.
