Peter J. Downing

Peter J. Downing has a diverse work experience in the entertainment industry. Peter J. started their own production company, PJD Productions LLC, in 2010, where they served as Owner/Producer/Director. Prior to that, they worked at Tribeca Enterprises as Creative Director/Producer for the Tribeca Film Festival and as Managing Director for the Tribeca Theater Festival. Peter J. also worked as a Producer/Co-Owner for the KIDS ACCESS Press Team, a group of young reporters who covered a variety of events. Peter has experience in television production, having worked as a Segment Staging Director for the Disney ABC Television Group. Peter J. has also held creative roles, such as Creative Director for Ceremonies at the Toronto 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games Organizing Committee and Producer/Director for Special Events at the World Science Festival. Peter has worked internationally as well, including positions as Creative Director/Producer for Family Programmes at the Doha Film Institute/Doha Tribeca Film Festival. Peter J. has a background in theater, having worked as a Stage Manager/Actor at Lincoln Center Theater and in various roles at The Walt Disney Company in Orlando. Overall, Peter J. Peter J. Downing holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Theater Arts, with a focus on Acting and Directing. Peter J. obtained this degree from Penn State University, where they studied from 1981 to 1984. Prior to that, Peter completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Theater and Economics, with a minor in Business, at Fordham University. Peter J. attended Fordham University from 1976 to 1980. In addition to their formal education, Peter has continued to enhance their skills and knowledge through ongoing education programs. Specifically, they completed a 14 Week Producer Program at the Commercial Theatre Institute in 2015 and has been engaged in ongoing education ever since. Peter also participated in a 12 Week Program at the LA Civic Light Opera Workshop in 1980.
