Hernán Lozano

Hernán Lozano has held various positions in the technology industry since 2011. From 2011 to 2012, they were a Fullstack PHP/Javascript Developer at Dequo Systems, where they worked with OSCommerce, Jquery, PHP, Nginx, MySQL, and DotProject. From 2013 to 2014, they were a Python/PHP programmer and Linux sysadmin at Infoxel, where they worked with Django, Python, Jquery, PHP, Nginx, MySQL, and Linux. From 2014 to 2018, they were a Fullstack Python and Javascript Developer at Machinalis, where they improved Elasticsearch indexing time by paralelizing the process with celery tasks, removed unnecessary queries and db indexes. From 2018 to 2019, they were a Fullstack Python and Javascript Developer at Acrobatiq by VitalSource, where they developed a framework for creating services to processes Amazon Kinesis events emitted by the e-learning platform. Finally, since 2019, they have been a Project Lead Developer at Tribute, where they have refactored logging following 12 factor apps guidelines and structured log fmt, fixed important bugs related to timing calculation in video transitions and race conditions with the checkout process, and upgraded general infraestructure by dockerizing both docker deployments, dev environments and poetry for dependency management.

Hernán Lozano obtained a Bachelor's degree in Tecnicatura Superior en Programación from the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional between 2010 and 2012. Prior to that, they studied Economics at Santo Tomas de Aquino from 2005 to 2008.
