Antonio Oporto

Antonio Oporto’s core expertise is in industry, transport, energy, and banking. He was Director of the Board of EBRD, chairing two of his committees during his five-year mandate. Antonio has 27 years of experience as a senior executive and CEO of industrial companies, including as President of Alstom Spain. Before that, Antonio was a senior executive of SEPI (Spanish entity for privatizations) for 10 years and a member of the Advisory Council on Energy and Transport of the European Commission. Antonio has served as director of the board of nearly 20 listed and private companies including Talgo. Mr. Oporto is a Knight of the Order of Merit of the French Republic and has been an Honorary Patron of the Spanish Royal Academy of History. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Business. He is fluent in German, French, and English in addition to his Spanish mother tongue.
