Chris Hayes

Dr. Chris Hayes is the Chief Health Information Officer and a critical care physician at Trillium Health Partners (THP). Dr. Hayes joined THP in 2018, where he co-led the implementation of the hospital’s new health information system. He is also an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto.

Prior to joining THP, Dr. Hayes was the Chief Medical Information Officer at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. He also served as the Medical Director of Quality and Performance at St. Michael’s Hospital. From 2008 to 2015, Dr. Hayes served as the Medical Officer for the Canadian Patient Safety Institute. In 2013-2014 he was selected as the Canadian Commonwealth Fund/Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy and Practice and an Institute of Healthcare Improvement Fellow, where he spent a year in the United States studying high performing health systems.
