Elaine M. Sanders

Elaine M. Sanders is currently the CFO & Corporate Secretary at Trilogy Metals. Prior to this, Sanders was the President of Ivanhoe Mines from January 2019 to December 2020. Before their time at Ivanhoe Mines, Sanders was the Chief Financial Officer at Capstone Mining from January 2012 to December 2012, and they left to take up a role at Kinross. Sanders was with Kinross Gold Corporation from January 2012 to December 2019 as the Executive Vice-President & Chief Financial Officer. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, Sanders was deeply involved in the overall management of the company and worked with the CEO and other senior management in developing and executing corporate strategy including assessment and execution strategy for corporate development opportunities. Sanders was responsible for the leadership of all financial aspects of running a publically listed mining company including executing the finance strategy and providing financial leadership to ensure the Company maintained an appropriate capital structure to support its annual operating plans and strategic plans. Additionally, Sanders cultivated and maintained strong relationships with external stakeholders, maximizing the Company’s ability to carry out its vision, raise capital and obtain financing. Lastly, Sanders regularly communicated with shareholders and debt holders about the Company’s performance, including presenting and or conducted one-on-one meetings with investors and debt holders at conferences and participating in quarterly calls with analysts.

Elaine M. Sanders has a Bachelor's Degree in Business/Commerce, General from The University of British Columbia. Elaine is certified as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the State of Illinois and as a Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia. Elaine also has a certification as a Chartered Business Valutor (CBV).
