Tony van Rooij

Tony van Rooij has a diverse work experience in the field of research and project management. Tony started their career as an intern at Erasmus MC, Sophia Children's Hospital, where they conducted psychological testing and examined the relationship between neurobehavioral development and medical factors for preschool children. Tony then moved on to work as a senior researcher at IVO Addiction Research Institute, where they executed and managed contract research on behavioral addictions and social care. Tony also served as a senior researcher at Ghent University, focusing on responsible media use, online gambling, and gaming. Currently, they are working as a project lead for Gaming, Gambling, & Digital Balance at Trimbos-instituut, where they focus on projects and research promoting the responsible and healthy use of video games and media, as well as minimizing gambling-related harms.
