Joel Smith

Joel Smith serves as the Divisional Vice President and Lead Counsel, Commercial, at TriNet since September 2017, leading the Commercial Transactions legal team and overseeing all sales and commercial matters, regulatory compliance, and strategic partnerships. Previously, Joel worked as Assistant General Counsel for Insperity, providing legal counsel for sales matters and mergers and acquisitions, after serving as Associate General Counsel at US Physical Therapy, where responsibilities included transactional matters and compliance. Joel's earlier experience includes positions at RigNet, Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P., and Jorden Burt LLP, focusing on corporate law, securities regulation, and commercial contracts. Joel holds a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Earlham College.
